True History of Islam, Mohammed and the Koran

Early Church History Timeline This early church history timeline, in my opinion, addresses issues that ought to be of concern to all Christians. How are we to do that if we don’t know what that faith is? Most Protestants will claim that the historic Christian faith can be determined from the Bible, but a simple comparison of the multitude of doctrines taught by Protestants makes it clear this is not true. The terrible result of this is that early church history is left far too often to the revisionist history of the Roman Catholics. The world is in desperate need of a testimony like that of the apostles and their churches! Fortunately, numerous writings have been left to us from all periods of the church, even the earliest, and it is not difficult to determine what was important to the churches the apostles started. Further, as we see doctrines introduced at later periods into the teaching of the churches, we can conclude that those doctrines are not apostolic. After the reign of Constantine and the first general council of the church at Nicea , two very significant events occurred. One, the churches now had an official means to decree doctrine.

Primitive cruciform signs The sign of the cross, represented in its simplest form by a crossing of two lines at right angles, greatly antedates, in both the East and the West, the introduction of Christianity. It goes back to a very remote period of human civilization. In fact, some have sought to attach to the widespread use of this sign, a real ethnographic importance. At successive periods this was modified, becoming curved at the extremities, or adding to them more complex lines or ornamental points, which latter also meet at the central intersection.

Biblical scholar For several centuries there has been much debate as to whether the obligation of celibacy for clerics in major orders or at least that of living in continence for those who are married is of biblical origin or whether it is based merely on ecclesiastical tradition dating back to the fourth century, since from then on, without question, legislation exists on the subject. The first of these two possible answers has recently been presented.

Stickler also insists in his preface,2 and H. Crouzel in a review. It was a vital principle, a seed, clearly present from apostolic times but which gradually then developed until the ecclesiastical legislation of the fourth century. Out of prudence, however, it omits to mention the canon law on celibacy, which nonetheless forms part of Church law today CIC par.

Yet even here it no longer refers as often in the past to the Old Testament, and only quotes two passages from the New: Here of course one might quote other New Testament passages to which, for instance, Paul VI referred in his encyclical Sacerdotalis coelibatus nn. But the problem is that these various texts describe, as a typically Christian ideal, the theological and spiritual value of celibacy in genere.

This ideal, however, is equally valid for the religious and for people living consecrated lives in the world; they do not show any particular connection with the ministries of the Church. The precise question that arises, therefore, is this: It would seem so.

Ancient paganism and the dangers of compromise. Is the entire Bible truely the word of GOD? No credible Biblical scholar on this earth will claim that the Bible was written by Jesus himself. They all agree that the Bible was written after the departure of Jesus peace be upon him by his followers. So, if the authors of the Bible were people other than Jesus, then did they have Jesus or the Holy Spirit in them guiding their hands and dictating to them word for word what to write?

As it happens, once again the answer is no. The majority of today’s credible Christian scholars do. Hesse Kassel Hesse Kassel is an Australian economist. He stopped chasing money and chased women and made children instead. He blogs right here Muslims account for over twenty percent of the population of the world and more than that fraction of prime-aged girls. For religious and cultural reasons these girls tend to be quite inaccessible to outsiders and often have their romantic and sexual choices restricted or simply made on their behalf.

A high proportion of Muslim girls, families, and communities take religious and cultural practices and rules seriously. These practices include an outright ban on romantic and sexual contact with non-Muslim men. That makes them a difficult, but not impossible challenge for an outsider. The journey to success with a Muslim girl is often challenging but can be a rewarding one. This article attempts to offer some guidance on what a man should expect on this journey.

All points are generalizations only, based on the personal experiences of the author, who is not a Muslim. As with any other religious group there is a high level of variation between individuals within that group. These points should only be seen as tendencies to look out for and warnings of what to be prepared for, not as certainties.

History of Man’s Corruption in the Bible.

Polycarp was martyred c. But Polycarp also was not only instructed by apostles, and conversed with many who had seen Christ, but was also, by apostles in Asia, appointed bishop of the Church in Smyrna, whom I also saw in my early youth, for he tarried [on earth] a very long time, and, when a very old man, gloriously and most nobly suffering martyrdom, departed this life, having always taught the things which he had learned from the apostles, and which the Church has handed down, and which alone are true.

To these things all the Asiatic Churches testify, as do also those men who have succeeded Polycarp down to the present time, a man who was of much greater weight, and a more stedfast witness of truth, than Valentinus, and Marcion, and the rest of the heretics. He it was who, coming to Rome in the time of Anicetus caused many to turn away from the aforesaid heretics to the Church of God, proclaiming that he had received this one and sole truth from the apostles, that, namely, which is handed down by the Church.

Information on Polycarp. Polycarp resided in Asia Minor as bishop of Smyrna and sent an epistle to the Philippians c. CE. Polycarp was martyred c. CE.

Yet, both of these traditional explanations of this passage have been termed incorrect by some recent Catholic Bible scholars. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter [Greek, Petros, rock, masculine], [7] and upon this rock [Greek, petra, rock, feminine] [8] I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. One common Protestant argument historically has been that the translation from the New Testament in Hebrew into Greek is tenuous at best as there is no real evidence or indication that the New Testament in Greek was ever translated from Hebrew or Aramaic texts, for that argument see Aramaic primacy.

A literal translation, in the style of the King James Version , of the words presumably used by Jesus would be “Thou art Rock, and upon this rock will I build my church”. Catholic view on relationship to the Church today[ edit ] In Catholicism , it is argued that the primacy of Peter is a basis for the primacy of the bishop of Rome over other bishops throughout the Church via the doctrine of Apostolic succession. This extension of Petrine primacy to popes is known as the primacy of the Bishop of Rome , also known as the primacy of the Roman Pontiff.

This Catholic Church doctrine holds that the papacy has authority delegated from Jesus to rule over the entire Church. There are various views on the nature of the primacy and how it has been exercised and passed on. This belief makes a distinction between the personal prestige of Peter and the supremacy of the office of pope which Catholics believe Jesus instituted in the person of Peter.

Some, but not nearly all, Protestant denominations accept the concept of the primacy of Peter, but believe it was only relevant during the lifetime of Peter. They do not believe the pope holds any authority over the universal Church. Catholics believe that Saint Paul saw Judaism as the type or figure of Christianity:
